Andrianus Oetjoe was born in Jakarta and trained as an engineer at Technische Universität Berlin. After study he went to West Papua to work as school teacher for the Indigenous Peoples where he discovered his passion for the photo journalism which led him to documentary film. He received the documentary film scholarship from Goethe Institut Indonesien at Hochschule der Bildende Kunst Hamburg under the media artist Bernd Schoch. In 2019 he awarded with Grenzgänger scholarship from Robert Bosch Stiftung.

2023 DAAD’s artistic coporation fellow at HFBK Hamburg

2019 – now Film lecturer with 2021 Best Teacher Award at BINUS.  University

2019 Crossing Borders’s fellow of Robert Bosch Fondation, Germany

2017 Five Islands/Five Villages fellow of Goethe Institut Indonesien and HFBK Hamburg

2016 Asiadoc Screenwriting Residency fellow in Phnom Penh
