Born and raised in Jakarta within the Indonesian-Chinese community and now based in Berlin, Andrianus Oetjoe was originally trained as a Diplom-Ingenieur at TU Berlin. He was a Goethe-Institut fellow (2017) and a Crossing Borders fellow of the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (2019). His background shapes his artistic position, which examines the mediality of collective memory, trauma, and social exclusion. He studied documentary filmmaking under Arne Birkenstock and Bernd Schoch, and is currently studying at University of Fine Arts Hamburg under Omer Fast.
